I have a New Idea, model 203, PTO driven manure spreader I no longer need. I have had this for 25 years and it has never once quit on me. The only repair I have done on it was changing out the side and bottom boards, used treated lumber. The only two issues are, the top guard over the beaters has a bend in the front edge, can likely be hammered back relatively straight and the left tire shows some weathering but will probably run another 25 years. It looked just like that when I bought it years ago. Both tires hold air perfectly, no leaks. It could use a paint job, would brighten it up immensely. I just went thru and greased all the zerks, tightened the apron chain slightly and drained and replaced the gear oil in the transmission located under the hinged shield on the rear left side of spreader. One advantage of a PTO spreader is that you can essentially "pile" the load by just engaging the PTO but don't move, can't do that with a ground driven spreader. I had horses for many years and this spreader never missed a beat when cleaning stalls or corrals. You won't find a cleaner one around. Stop by, I'll hook up to the tractor and you can see it run. Trails very well down the road.
