PROJECT CAR…1979 Mercedes 450SL looking for a new home. It has been replaced and we need the room for the new car. We have owned this 450 for about 15 years, it was in good condition when we purchased it and it remains in good condition today. Like any older car it requires attention, the first project was a new paint job, followed by ((not in order) new top, new Bilstein Shocks, brake job, heating/cooling control,tires, muffler. The next project is the engine, the engine needs some attention from a mechanic, it starts and runs ok at higher RPM, but has very rough idle.
Check J. D. Power/NADA for car values .
